Having never seen IRIS I can't argue with any of the information here. Is it common for Cirque to reuse ideas/costumes/props? Not that I mind, I'm just curious.

I like the reinvented use of the Iris show ... cirque and broadway are a perfect match for me

Kit: It's not been a practice of Cirque to reuse props and set pieces, but with a number of shows closing over the years - some of them quite high profile - they have plenty of costumes, props, and set pieces to choose from. Many have been put to use in 45 Degrees branded special events though, so some of them get used again. Paramour seems to be a special case, so we'll have to see what of IRIS actually becomes Paramour when more details are released.

It is/was extremely against the founding core beliefs of Cirque Du Soleil to repeat anything. Their message was always "we never do the same thing twice, you will always see something different." It was something they said in almost every interview for press at the touring shows, or interviews at the headquarters covering creation. So, it is quite strange to reuse props or concepts. But, the company as a business has evolved into something different over the last ten years. Values may have changed.

I can count at least two things from IRIS in this photo from the Paramour Facebook page. Top right: same style of the presentation (no smoking, phones) - projecting onto two screens manipulated by two people. Centre right: DEFINITELY the film strip sequence from IRIS.

More proof that they're DEFINITELY doing a modified version of the film strip sequence from IRIS. Notice the markings on the floor representing the "frames" and doors and the chairs in each box.
